Lately I've been getting referrals from locals who need help after their customers or family members have become victims of the fake "Microsoft Tech Support phone person" scam. These are the businesses scammers have been pretending to be in the Alamogordo area: Microsoft, IRS, Police, PNM, Mary Kay, Delta Airlines, and various Credit Card companies.
The scammers have also claimed to be relatives such as sons or grandsons.
These are the following types of scams reported being attempted in the Alamogordo area: Refund scams, trying to make you buy gift cards to pay taxes, faking your bank website account balance and convincing victims to send checks or cash payments via box shipment for repayment, trying to make you pay fake fines to avoid arrest warrants, and false stories about an abandoned car with drugs they claim is yours in order to make you provide them sensitive information to 'prove otherwise'.
Many of these scammers install programs on victims computers to remotely control it or to trick you into believing your computer has problems or viruses. I can remove these programs from your computer.

Personal and Business Email.
I can create a @yourname.com email address. Do you like your Gmail, Hotmail, Outlook, or Yahoo email you already have? There's no need for you to learn a new email system! I can set up a custom name for you using those services. Your new Email will look exactly the same as you remember it!
Think about what happens when someone misspells your Yahoo or Gmail name, someone else might get the invoice meant for you or your business!

Computer Repairs / Hardware Upgrades.
Don't let your computer fall victim to another capacitor plague! I always search for the longest warranties and best parts available with respect for reasonable prices.
You don't have to spend a fortune on a new computer! I've extended numerous old computers and laptops useful lives by adding small parts such as more RAM, and upgrading parts with modern hardware such as replacing slow spinning hard drives with fast non-moving (SSD) solid state drives.
I can also do reasonable repairs on the more easily replacable parts on electronics such as resoldering blown capacitors and loose power connectors.

All of my servers are rented spaces located in professional data centers across the USA. In fact, the website you're reading right now lives in a huge server warehouse owned and secured by Google. This is how I keep costs down, and possibly yours too, since you won't need to build an expensive server room or pay for corporate internet rates.
Plus you'll get the benefit of having a local professional who you can meet in person with and complain to if issues come up, not just a phone number.
Antivirus.
By far the most help I get asked for is how to deal with viruses. It seems there are just as many nasty things inside the internet world as there are in the real world! Don't worry, I can help disinfect your computer.
I am extra careful with your data, I always create a backup of all your files and precious baby pictures before doing anything.
